Founded in 2021, The RGV Bears has quickly become a staple in the Rio Grande Valley community, grounded in the principles of Respect, Love, and Community.
Our RGV Bears empower individuals to thrive in judgment-free environments, where everyone can express their unique individuality. We proudly host the largest Bear event and the biggest LGBTQIA Fetish and Kink event in the Valley.
All proceeds from our sales and events are reinvested to create better and more inclusive spaces for our community. Additionally, we support annual toy drives and aid community members in need.
More than just an organization, we consider ourselves family. As your brothers, sisters, neighbors, and leaders, we are committed to spreading joy, supporting those in need, and fostering a sense of belonging. Our five board members, who are dedicated individuals from across the valley, balance their personal lives with a commitment to giving back to our queer family.

A gay bear is a term used within the LGBTQIA+ community to describe a subculture of people who are typically characterized by their physical traits, such as a larger, often hairy, or sometimes muscular physique. However, the term "bear" is more about identity and community rather than specific physical attributes. Bears often embrace all levels of masculinity and may reject mainstream standards of attractiveness, celebrating body positivity and diversity.
